If you're having trouble copying and pasting in BioRender, it could be one of several issues:
You're trying to paste an image that was copied outside of the app
Unfortunately, BioRender does not supported the pasting of externally-copied images into the app. If you'd like to add an external image file to one of your BioRender illustrations:
1) Save the image to your local hard drive in .jpeg, .png, or .pdf format
2) Upload the image file directly into your BioRender library, either by dragging it into your browser or selecting "Uploads" in the lefthand menu and importing your image file.
Copy and Paste isn't working within a single BioRender illustration
There are several reasons why this could be happening:
a) You are using the browser copy and paste functions from the "File, etc" menu at the top of the browser
BioRender uses native copy and paste commands to copy and paste icons. The browser's Cut, Copy, and Paste commands do not apply to BioRender objects such as icons, shapes, and text. In this case, make sure you use keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste, or use BioRender's native "Copy", "Cut" and "Paste" functions (found in the app's top toolbar).
b) Your computer is having problems with its clipboard
To test whether the issues lies with BioRender or your computer, try copying and pasting something outside of the app. If you're having copy and paste issues outside of the BioRender, you may be experiencing a problem with your computer's clipboard, unrelated to BioRender.
c) BioRender is having a temporary copy and paste problem
This doesn't happen often, but on the off-chance that there is an issue with BioRender's native copy and paste actions, please contact us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can address the issue.
